Stutz Business Center (1030 N. Capitol Ave.) - enter the building on the Capitol Ave – B Building entrance.

Artists have just four hours to paint with the materials provided. You can't bring easels, but you can bring chairs. The public is invited to watch our artists paint free of charge.
Main Event
Friday, September 25, 2009, balloting starts at 8 p.m. sharp
The Vogue Theatre in Broad Ripple (6259 N. College Ave.)
Advance tickets: $12 (buy here online; other locations announced soon!)

The Grand Prize has swollen to a whopping $3,500, winner-take-all. A2 Industries will deejay, and Mike Wiltrout returns to emcee. After we crown the winner, Bad Veins from Cincinnati takes the stage.
A Little Help from Our Friends
As we prepare to bring you another exciting Art vs. Art, we've run into one big snag: With this economy, local businesses aren't sponsoring events like they used to, even with the generous marketing opportunity Art vs. Art provides.
We can certainly understand that. We’re a small, grassroots arts nonprofit after all. We’re nothing if not frugal and efficient.
That’s why we need YOUR support. People like you, helping us help emerging artists and develop arts audiences. Your donation goes directly toward operating costs, which ensure some of the following:
- Staging quality, innovative events like Art vs. Art, Installation Nation, and TOYS.
- Providing Professional Development Workshops for career artists free of charge.
- Guaranteeing that our artists continue to garner 70 to 100% from the sale of their artwork at our events.
We have set up a goal on Facebook to raise $1,000 by the Main Event. We can do it, with your help.
We Get Stimulated

Primary Colours is honored to be one of 24 Hoosier arts organizations to receive money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) allocated to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The grant specifically helps “retain jobs at local arts organizations and cultural programming providers threatened by declines in philanthropic support during the current economic downturn” and will go directly toward the salary of our executive director, Hugh Vandivier. Thanks so much to the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the Indiana Arts Commission for administering the grant locally.
ProDev Wrapup
Special thanks to those 70 or so artists who attended this year’s Professional Development Series, our fifth partnership with the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Special thanks to Shannon Linker of the Arts Council for her crucial help in organizing and hosting this year’s free workshops.
We appreciate everyone for filling out evaluation sheets after each session and for giving us great ideas for next year’s series. If you have an idea for a workshop topic, let us know.
If you missed a workshop, you can find a repository of resources from past sessions on the Arts Council Web site.
