Another Successful Art vs. Art

Thank you one and all for making this year's Art vs. Art a spectacle to behold! Thanks to our generous sponsors, our loyal supporters, our helpful volunteers, Groovetruck Productions, the Naptown Roller Girls, Mike Wiltrout, A Squared Industries, the Stutz Business Center, and the Vogue Theatre for helping make this a successful event. For video highlights from Metromix, click the picture.

We sold a record number of pieces, 58 paintings to be exact, which is more than half. Art sales totaled $5,175, with 70% going directly to the artists. Thanks so much to those who bought some great art and to those who enthusiastically support this event and the arts in Indy.

  • Your feedback is crucial to helping us make a great event even better. Take our survey, and you could win dinner for two at Brugge Brasserie in Broad Ripple. We'll wrap up the survey at 5pm EDT Wed., Oct. 21.

Click here to take the survey.

  • Share your pix, video, and blog entries from Paint Day, the Main Event, and anywhere in between. We'll post the links on our various sites. E-mail them to info@primarycolours.org.
  • Event t-shirts are still available while supplies last! Click here.
  • Just before the Main Event, six artists painted their interpretations of a Scion parked right outside. Their paintings are currently hanging at Locals Only for the month of October, and they receive 100% from the sale of their work. Be sure to check them during Butler Scion's Free Music Thursdays.

'Oh, There She is, the Winner of Art vs. Art...'

The Champion of this year's Art vs. Art is Mab Graves (canvas #56), who won the Butler Scion Grand Prize, a whopping $3,500!

After the hoopla (the big check, the title belt, the serenade), she took the ultimate risk, putting her winning painting up for auction and facing the menacing Wheel of Death. Unfortunatly, the Wheel was not kind as a spin resulted in the dreaded Instant Death.
