Colours announces
the return
of its holiday
event, Toys.
This year's
art showcase
will take
place at 409
Massachusetts
Avenue (the
old Young & Laramore
Building)
on December
1, 2006 from
5 to 10 p.m.
Toys exhibits
art fashioned
around the
theme of toys,
and invited
artists are
free to interpret
the theme
as they see
fit. "This
year, we're
teaming up
with The Julian
Center to
help needy
families," says
Primary Colours
board member
Fred Shields. "We're
asking attendees
to bring nonperishable
food items
that we'll
collect at
the door." There
is no admission
fee for this
free event,which
coincides
with the IDADA
(Indianapolis
Downtown Artists
and Dealers
Association)
First Friday
Art Tour.
DJs Al Smashya
(Justin Cooper)
and Dicky
Fox (Mike
Graves) will
be sharing
the spin time
during the
exhibition.
Hors d'oeuvres
and beverages
will be served.
This
year's exhibition
includes artwork
from the following

of their art.
Primary
Colours
is
a nonprofit arts
organization that
facilitates interaction
between visual
artists and the
community. Its
purpose is to
create and sustain
a thriving environment
for the visual
arts through unique
exhibitions,
workshops and
special events,
including Art
vs. Art, Allotropy,
and the Professional
Development Series
for artists. The
Julian Center (www.juliancenter.org)
is a unique,
nonprofit agency
providing counseling,
safe shelter,
and education
for women and
children who
are survivors
of domestic
violence and
abuse. |
